This Window was destroyed by an Air Raid in WW2 on 1st April 1941.

View recovered from a Postcard of the Church interior. This is very grainy, due to the very small size within the postcard view, and being enhanced to attempt to pick out the detailing.

The “Evans” Window was designed in 1902 by A. J. Dix of Berners Street, W. The Left hand light, showed “The Presentation in the temple” – Joseph, the Virgin, Child Jesus and aged Simeon – it was “In memory of the Rev. Thos. Evans, for 38 years Vicar of this Parish, died in 1815, aged 66. John his son, who died in 1834, aged 54; also Caroline Beard, his wife, died in 1831, aged 36 and their child Catherine Ann in 1830 aged 7 years”. The Right hand light showed “Christ blessing little children,” and was “To the memory of John Harry Evans and Mary Alice his wife and Thomas their son. Also of Caroline Dennet Evans who died 1902, aged 86”.

The smaller glass panels survived the blast, and were preserved when the plain glass window was installed. This is how the window looks today.
