St. Nicholas at Sutton was a one time a separate parish. The Church has long since been destroyed, though its foundations are traceable.
When the parish of Sutton was united with Seaford early in the 16th Century, the Church was already roofless and in too bad a state for restoration.
The Church measured approximately 90ft overall in length from E-W, and approximately 40ft in width. The Chancel occupied one third of the length and had a square eastern end. The Nave seems to have possessed two side aisles, indicating that the Nave was c.20ft wide, with N & S aisles 10ft in width. There are also indications of a probable Tower at the W end.
Dates attributed as Medieval 1066 – 1539.
